Momčilo Trajković

Momčilo Trajković is born on 05.11.1950 in Čaglavica, Serbia.


He is president of Serbian Resistance Movement – Democratic Movement, since its foundation in 1997 and managing director of Agricultural Company RATAR in Laplje Selo. He is also president of chess society of Serbia since 2005.


His important positions are: Expert advisor and advisor to the regional secretary for work of Autonomous Region of Kosovo and Metohija, 1978-1986; Exedcutive secretary and Secretary of municipal committee of Union of Communists of, 1986-1990; Member of the Central Committee (CC) of the Union of Communists (UC) of Serbia, 1988-1990; Vice-president of the Government of Serbia, 1990-1991; MP in the Assembly of Serbia in two mandates, 1991-1993, 2001-2003; From 1987 til 1990 he was one of the closest co-workers of Slobodan Milošević, and one of the founders of SPS. In 1992 he confronted politics of Milošević and he is the first of his co-workers who abandoned hime because he dissagreed his politics on Kosovo and further democratization of Serbia. He was president of the Board for Kosovo and Metohija in the Assembly of Serbia in two mandates 1991-1993, 2002-2003; President of the federal committee for Kosovo and Metohija in the Government of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, during 2001; Member of the presidency of Democratic Opposition of Serbia –DOS (close co-worker of Zoran Đinđić) 2000-2003; Together with Bishop Artemije he is the creator of democratic alternative to Milošević’s politics in Kosovo and in Serbia. He is the member of state council of the Government of Serbia for Kosovo and Metohija, 2005-2007; Member of presidencu of Yugoslav Olympic Committee (YOC), 1990-1992.


He wrote publications “Why Kosovo cannot be a republic” 1984 g., “Problems of workers abroad and possibility for their return to Kosovo” 1985, “Kosovo and institutionalized nationalism”1987; He wrote a political thesis, “Kosovo – shine and sunset of Serbian politics” 1992; and a book in 2007 titled “Kosovo - mission (im)possible”.


Graduated at Faculty of Law in Priština.


Married, father of three, grandfather of three.
Hobbies: chess, table tennis, music – especially ethno, and he is a Red Star fan.
