Numan Balić is born on 20.12.1958.in village Zminac, Bijelo Polje (Montenegro). He is living in village Vitomirica since 1963.
He is acting president of political party SDA Kosovo, MP in the Parliament of Kosovo, member of the Commission for Rights and Interests of Communities. He is acting as president of SDA Kosovo since its foundation in 1990.
He was minister in Bujar Bukoši’s government in exile; member of the Provisional Government of Kosovo in 1999/2000; member of Provisional Council of Kosovo, directed by SRSG Bernard Kouchner in 1999/2001; Minister of health in first Government of Kosovo from 05.03.2002 until 05.03.2003. when he was illegaly removed from that position by former Prime Minister Redzepi, against the Agreement on forming of the Government, and against regulation based on which only SRSG Michael Steiner had the authority for such decision. He was MP in the Assembly of Kosovo in all three mandates: 2001, 2004, 2007. Biggest success: elections in 2001 when SDA, as key force within Coalition Vatan won fifth place in Kosovo, four mandates and ministry of health in the Government.
Currently he is writing a novel “Journey”, which will be published in May this year. He finished elementary school in Vitomirica, gymnasium in Peć, Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade, and he specialized urology and surgery in Sarajevo and in Priština.
Married to Jasmina, father of eight, Lives at his estate in Vitomirica.
He is involved in writing and practices religion as believer of muslim religion.
